1877 nickel three-cent piece, PCGS PR-65. A gem example of the rarest date in the 25-year history of this type. Only about 500 proofs were struck, with no accompanying business strike mintage in 1877. Very light golden toning, not at all blotchy as seems to be indicated on my poor-quality scan. The current Greysheet wholesale "bid" is $1,700. Buy this example for only $1,800. SOLD.
